At Eisberg, our employees are the heart of what we do. In this employee story, meet Gabor Laszlo, a Quality Specialist who embodies the Eisberg’s values with his dedication to quality, continuous improvement and passion for a well-balanced life.

Gábor, tell us about your role at Eisberg: What do you do?
I’m a Quality Specialist at Eisberg since 2018. My role is dedicated to purchasing and quality, namely ensuring that the raw material has the right quality to meet our high standards for product quality and safety.

Before joining Eisberg, I already had an agricultural background, which helps me a lot in my current role. In the beginning, I spent three months learning the ropes, traveling to different growers to check and work with them. It was a steep learning curve, but I enjoyed every moment of it! Now, my typical working day involves taking care of group-level documentation, such as purchasing quality documents, internal documents, and growers’ contracts.

What do you particularly like about your work at Eisberg? Which word would best describe your time at Eisberg?

One of the things I love about my job is that no two days are ever the same. I get to find different challenges in various fields, which keeps me on my toes. Plus, I have the freedom to come up with new ideas and implement them – it’s a great feeling! If I had to describe it in one word, it would be “Improvement”. I’ve learned so much since I started with Eisberg, especially from Gyula, who has been an outstanding leader and mentor.

What was your most exciting and/or favourite moment you had working for Eisberg?

The most exciting and/or favourite moment? That’s easy: Simply everyday… We have a very good atmosphere. We have a very good relationship with our colleagues, which makes coming to work every day a pleasure.

Eisberg’s motto is currently: “Everyone Loves Salad”. Are you a salad lover too? What’s Your relationship to salads? And which kind of salad could represent you?

I eat salads more and more. As a Hungarian, meat has always been a big part of my meals, but since changing my diet due to health reasons, I’ve discovered the joy of eating more vegetables and salads. My go-to favorite is baby leaves.
If I had to describe myself with a salad or mix, I’d say it would be a versatile combination of different ingredients, just like me! I’m a bit of a mix bag, with many different feelings and personality traits all rolled into one.

How do you spend your time when you are not working for Eisberg?

Outside of work, I like to do physical exercise: I enjoy going cycling and do exercises at home in my little gym. I like to go fishing. For example, I once went midnight fishing in Norway, which was an incredible experience. My family is also very important to me, especially my two-year-old daughter – making sure I spend quality time with her is always a priority.

What’s your favourite colour? And most important question: How do you personally colour your life?

In terms of colours, I’m more of a colourful person myself! I don’t have a dedicated favourite colour, but I love anything that’s bright and cheerful. How do I colour my life? It’s all about finding the right balance between work and personal/family life. When I can find that balance, everything else just falls into place. Two passions – work and family – combined in a good way is my ultimate goal!
